How big was a Stegosaurus?

Stegosaurus was a large dinosaur with a striking, heavy build.

He will usually be about 9 meters long and approximately 4 meters high described if one takes into account the erect back plates. Depending on the source, the weight was roughly between 2 and 6 tons.

It was about as long as a small bus and as high as a large horse or elephant. Particularly typical were its large bony plates on its back and the spines on its tail.

The body itself was rather deeply built and four-legged. Despite its impressive size, the head was quite small in relation to the rest of the body. The Stegosaurus therefore appeared massive, but not particularly fast or elegant.
