How big was a velociraptor?

An adult velociraptor was significantly smaller than many people expect from films like Jurassic Park.

The total length was about 1.5 to 2 meters, counting the head to the end of the tail. The height on the back was around one meter, some sources also say 0.5 meters to 1 meter, depending on the posture and interpretation of the skeletal structure.

His weight ranged between around 7 and 20 kilograms, with typical values ​​often being 15 kilograms. This made Velociraptor about the size of a medium sized dog, but with a very light, aerodynamic build, long legs and a powerful tail for balance.
